Opening Night/Artist's Reception July 2009
Arlene Phillips, Lorali Downes and John Willard of Ottica Seattle, the city's top optical shop, invited Charlotte to bring her show to Washington State. Ottica had recently opened a second store in historic Bellevue and was excited to launch an art gallery within the new space.
Charlotte had been living in Mexico City and traveling for the past five years, and her colorful, insightful paintings reflect that journey. She called the show “Full Time Tourist.” Charlotte's highly successful exhibit at The Talking Stick in Venice, CA, closed at the end of June (with plans for another show there in June, 2010).
Ottica is proud to support up-and-coming artists like Charlotte and will display her work throughout the summer. The Opening Reception featuring art, fun, wine, and great food was an excellent opportunity to meet this talented young painter.
